At eXp Realty, the education and training for real estate agents and brokers is top notch. Not only are there coaches and top producing agents from all around the country teaching and sharing on a daily basis, our Director of Education was named Inman’s Top 50 Most Influential Online and our “Working the Magic” Technology Team has some of the most tech-savvy educators in the industry.
Every week there are 20-25 live classes in eXp’s virtual office, a large database of recorded classes and ‘how to’ videos, as well as in-person training, coaching, and new agent mentor programs.

Kerry Lucasse tells us that she’s been with the company [eXp Realty] for about five years and it’s just been incredible to see how this company has grown, but also how the agents’ businesses have grown, thanks to all the stellar education and training that’s offered at EXP. You’ve probably already learned about all the other benefits eXp Realty offers like the great commission splits and stock awards, and lead gen tools, so we wanted to do a deep dive into eXp Realty’s education and training programs, so you can get see how this brokerage goes over and above to educate and help build better agents!
We have an awesome education staff. We have Brad Anderson, he’s the Director of Education at EXP Realty, and was previously the co-creator of ActiveRain, a large agent blogging platform. So Brad was doing such an incredible job that Zillow scooped him up to create Zillow Academy, where he hosted over a thousand webinars, Now he has the RETech Campus and is the director of our education. I can’t tell you, I have learned so much from this man. So it’s really an honor to have him here at EXP with us.
Then we have the Working The Magic team, that’s our technology team, and they host at least two or three classes every week. They’ll bring in representatives from Commmissions Inc (CINC) and Kunversion (the free lead generation websites eXp offers our agents) to answer any questions, give you some tips and help you become a successful lead generator. Then they have a weekly class called Xcamp, where it’s all about the latest real estate apps and tools, so it’s really, really helpful.
Over the last few years, so many different national coaches and trainers have joined eXp Realty and they also jump in and teach classes on a regular basis.
TRAINING & MEETINGS IN THE VIRTUAL OFFICE
When you come to eXp Realty, we have an online or virtual world, so you can walk in with your customized avatar and attend at least 20 hours of live training every single week… from the comfort of your home office or anywhere you have internet access. There are guest speakers from around the country, national coaches and trainers, group workshops and masterminds. It is an incredible experience, as you may have someone from Boston teaching a class one day and Austin the next. The agent or coach who’s teaching the class isn’t trying to hold back their secret recipe because they’re talking to their local market, which often happens when a local agent is teaching a class to agents in their market. They will tell you exactly what they’re doing to succeed, and for me, that’s just been huge for many agents here at eXp.
In order to get into the virtual office, you just log in eXp World from your computer. There is also a mobile app that allows you to access the World from your phone, so you can listen and participate in classes while you’re in the car or sitting in a coffee shop. It’s really cool.
RECORDED AND ON-DEMAND TRAINING
Many of the live eXp Realty training classes are recorded and have been invaluable to many of the real estate agents here at the brokerage. If you’re a busy agent, you’re running around and you’re showing houses, attending closings, and you may not be able to be there at one o’clock for a class you were so excited to attend. Kerry shares, “At my previous brokerage, there would be so many classes I missed because I just couldn’t get to the office in time. Now I can pull up the recordings on our EXP Expressway and listen to them anytime — even when you are driving to all your client meetings!”
Our technology team creates a lot of short “how-to” training videos. Several years ago when I was doing my first Facebook ad, all I had to do was pull up one of their videos and I was able to create my first ad while I watched the step by step ‘how to’ video. It’s also a huge plus, because many times, you attend a training class, get so excited about what you learned, and by the time you get around to trying it out three weeks later, you’ve forgotten 70% of what you learned. Being able to go back and access these recordings can make a BIG impact on your business.
In addition to the training in the virtual office and recorded sessions, eXp Realty also has in-person training, sponsor and mentor training. Most of the cities / states offer monthly or quarterly in-person meetings. Some areas offer continuing education classes several times a year, as well as Lunch & Learn events.
Sponsor / Mentor Training :: Here at eXp Realty, every agent has a Sponsor (the person who introduced you to the company). If you’re a new agent, you also have a mentor for at least your first five transactions. Many of the Sponsors and Mentors focus on one-on-one training or small group training in order to share best practices, new marketing tools and/or goal setting and accountability. This is a BIG benefit that sets eXp Realty apart from every other brokerage out there :: your sponsors have a VESTED INTEREST IN YOUR SUCCESS, so agents always have someone there to help, even if it’s a simple question, or if it’s something about just developing your brand or your strategy, or overcoming an obstacle. You have someone that you can rely on all the time. There are so many agents who work in a 200 – 300 agent office but feel completely alone and don’t have another agent they can go to for help.
Two Annual eXp Conferences :: In the Spring, there is the EXP Shareholders meeting, and in the fall, it is EXPCON (the largest eXp conference). The location varies every year, from Las Vegas to Chicago to Ft. Lauderdale. If you join the company, you absolutely, positively need to go to one of our eXp Realty conferences because you have never seen a more excited group of people!
It really is so much fun to meet people that you’ve met in the virtual office. Quite often, the same agents regularly attend certain virtual classes (i.e. lead gen, accountability, etc) and because the agents have similar interests, they often chat and become friends. Then when the agents and brokers get to meet in person at the different conferences, it feels like a family reunion!

EXP REALTY TRAINING & CLASSES OFFERED
Here’s an example of a weekly training calendar in our virtual office. We have everything from “Farming for Dollars” to goal setting and accountability, where we have agents that come in every single week who need that accountability. There are also lead generation workshops, building your WordPress website, how to do the math behind lead generation, hosting mega open houses, running ads on Facebook, time blocking, the list goes on and on.
Every week, we have a weekly leadership meeting where you hear from all the different eXp leaders around the country so you can get the latest news, hear about brokerage improvements, growth and new agent benefits. Then right after the eXp Leadership meeting, we also have something new called the ICON-versations. The ICON is an award that you can receive at EXP, and so every week we have a meeting that’s not really a panel, it’s just top producing agents having a conversation about how they run and manage their businesses, what’s working well for them and the challenges they face. This one is usually standing room only in the virtual office!
There are also smaller meetings and Mastermind sessions that may only have 25 to 30 agents, but it really is awesome just to be able to have an exchange of ideas on a regular basis where you get to hear what different agents are doing around the country and what’s working for them. I can’t tell you how much of an impact that’s made on my business.
